exploring the Trossachs Nature Preserve

After our hike up a part of Ben Lomond, we took a wee walk through the nature preserve. Our friendly Scottish guide stopped multiple times along the way to point out plants that would be useful for eating or making things in the instance that you got lost or ran out of food. It was pretty rainy and cold for the most part (even hailing at one point!), however, every now and then, the blue skies would appear from behind the gray clouds. No matter how miserable the weather is, a little blue sky and a patch of spring flowers (tulips or daffodils especially!) always put me in a good mood!
