It's hard to believe that I leave tomorrow for St. Andrews! Time has certainly flown by as I've anticipated this night for so many months and weeks and days. Typical Sally, I'm still fairly nervous (and I probably won't sleep too much for the next couple of nights), but I'm also really excited! I don't know too much about what the next week will hold, but I'll share what I do know.
Once we arrive in Edinburgh on Monday (about 2pm Scotland time and 8am Central time), there will be a couple days of orientation with the Institute for Study Abroad-Butler University (IFSA-Butler) people stationed in Scotland. Then the students split up and head to their particular schools. After I arrive at St. Andrews, I will move in, have another orientation, and start registering for classes. My plan is to take two philosophy courses for a total of 60 St. Andrews credits (the equivalent of 15 U.S. credits) as well as join one of their several choirs. Classes do not officially being until Monday, February 7, so I'm sure I'll have plenty of time to settle into my new room and my new surroundings.
Please pray for me as I travel, move, settle in, and explore over the next several days. As soon as I get my computer set up sometime next week, I'll post an update. Until then, please keep me in your thoughts and prayers. Especially pray that all the traveling, moving in, friending, and registering go smoothly! Also, I really hope to have some great pictures to share by the time I write my next blog post. Maybe the typically rainy weather will let up just long enough for me to take some great shots of the Scottish scenery.
That's it for now. The next time I write, I will be in Scotland!

We miss you already Sally. Have a great trip and keep us posted.
Sally! It's Lauren Winchester. I'm so excited for you--studying philosophy in Scotland sounds like a dream. I'll be praying for you and anticipating lots of pictures!
Have a safe flight!
Hey, Sally, I checked the flight information, being the mother that I am, and found your plane has landed! Love you!
I look forward to reading all about your semester! Have a blast!!
You also got out just in time...all flights today at least from Midway are cancelled due to fog blanketing Chicago..
