Culloden Battlefield

Culloden (located just outside of Inverness) is the site of the "last stand" of the Scottish Highlanders against the English troops in 1746. It was here that England brutally defeated the Highlanders once and for all and put an end to their valiant attempts to instate Bonny Prince Charlie as the rightful ruler of Scotland. (The sign is written in Gallic, which is different from the Irish Gaelic.)
